Hi all,
Seems I forum jump these days. Previously on M3 cutters, but sold the m3 and bought myself a Superduke 990 Black.
Amazing bike, but going to nurse it for a few weeks before playing silly buggers.
One question, decided to gamble a ride up to Donington this morning to watch the racing but turned back halfway. Didn't have proper wet weather pants and the gusting winds on the M1 didn't make it enjoyable. Odd thing though, at 70mph all I could hear was the wind, not the engine. I had to go down to sixth gear to be sure which gear I was in, then pull back one to 5th while cruising.
Not hearing the bike at all, is that normal? Didn't feel right ( mind you wind was heaving) I've a Shoei Neotech so helmet shouldn't be the issue..

Never ride without ear protection. Fatigue will be your unshakable friend.
You'll hear what you need to when: accelerating, on over-rev and when backing off, even from partial throttle.
I have an 08' SD Black with stock exhaust. Not nearly as loud as my RC51 w/ Sato Banzai TI ultra high mount racing exhaust. But still present.
Ride both with a Shark Race R pro helmet using "Mighty Plugs" earplugs made from Beeswax, Lanolin and Cotton inserted under a very thin SPARK balaclava.
