Hey folks
I went into the dealer today and put my money down on a new SD 1290.
I've had my eye on them since they were released and decided it was time.

I've been riding for around 30 years and I have a 2014 Kawasaki Ninja 1000 which I will keep but I was after something special as a second bike in the stable.
It's been a long process to choose it, I was originally going to by a Kawasaki H2 but I'm a really tall guy and I found the ergo's were terrible for me when I sat on one.
I took a Ducati Penigale 1299 S for a ride which looked and sounded great, and that quickshifter is the balls, but checking the Ducati forums lots of owners are having problems with leaky (oil and coolant) engines. I rode the SD back to back with it and it was very interesting to experience the difference in power delivery between the two similar engines. The Ducati has nothing down low, especially compared to the KTM.

KTM have a deal on here at the moment where you get $2000 worth of power parts of your choice with the bike. I'm not doing a full Akra system, but just a little more audio from the zorst would be good. Based on what I've read here the Akro slip on is not worth the money so I'll have a look around.

I'd like to hear what others would do with $2k worth of credit for KTM bits ? I know it won't get to much but it's a good start.

Good times !
Jimmy
