ImageBeen lurking on this site for a while as a visitor, thought it was about time I made things official. I have recently purchased an '09 SD which was a "more of the same" decision as I have had a procession of '690' Dukes (starting with an old green 640 way back to my current 2013 690R). I doubt I will ever not have a 690 in the shed, pretty much made for the twisty geography around these parts.
The 990 offers all that KTM goodness with a bit more tolerance for mile munching (although I did chop out the shitty Conti on the rear in 2.5ks).
Have got some Akras and downloaded the appropriate tuneecu stuff for a bit of a tune up but yet to modify as the beast died after touchdown from a wee mono... I mean really died as in completely cut out. Had a bit of a run though possible gremlins but to no avail so it's in the shop as we speak. She also likes to heat up when you're pissing around in town (once again, been through the 'common' issues on overheating without any joy), so it's been a bumpy start to the relationship but this is stuff for a more specific thread if problems persist.
Aside from the unwanted stuff I would have to say that the bike is all I wanted it to be; nimble, powerful, brutally good looking and most importantly a hoot to ride. If I get the niggly shit sorted I can see this bike being around for quite some time

Thanks for your advice on the map upgrades ktmguy, traced the no-go problem in my greetings to the fuel pump so waiting on a replacement from ebay before I can start playing with things (not a lot of 990s around here, let alone parts).
Is there a better way to upload images to the forum than the Img box above?
