Hi all.
I bought an 08 SD with 5k miles on it about a month ago and I think I have finally found the bike I'm going to keep. I have been through a bike about every two years for I don't even know how long. I have been gosting this board for weeks and figure I better say hello and get to know ya all.
I live in Oakland California and ride primarily in the hills near here but plan to explore the coastal areas to the north and south as well (i'm fairly new to the area).
So far the only things I have done to the bike are frame sliders and black renthal fat bars. Hand guards, exhaust and suspension upgrades are probably in my future but the bike is plenty good for me right now. Oh and I cant wait to ware out these dunlop tyres.
Thanks for everything I have already learned by reading the threads!
Keep the rubber side down,

I would suggest a lot of mods but I know how strict the cops are in Cali. If you can, remove as much emissions crap as you can get away with, it really transforms the bike without drawing too much attention to yourself. O2 sensor eliminators alone will smooth out the LC8 and take 5 minutes to reinstall for inspections. Welcome to the addiction.

Hey GunPowder,
I live in Concord and work in Oakland. I ride alhambra to bear creek to wildcat to grizzly peak, skyline, redwood road when I get the chance. Maybe see you at the wall sometime.
