Hi all,
I've lurked for years. I first test rode an early SD 990 in 2005, and fell in love. Now have a v nice 2009 SD 990 with Akras and Rottweiler, which is awesome. I’ve had it for two years but not done many miles (I have an old Honda for commuting).
So my SD’s approaching 12,000 miles and needs a service. I have two Qs…
1. Today I got quoted £800 for this service from my most local KTM dealer, plus another £200 to supply and fit c&s. Does that sound right to you? I get that the clearances need checking, but this still seems seriously expensive. A grand?!
2. Can anyone recommend a good dealer around W London ( -/+ 60-70 miles) who can do this service for less?
Thanks in advance!

£400 I would have thought reasonable for a full service with valve check.
What's c&s?

Hi TimR, yeah I was hoping for that sort of money plus C&S (chain & sprox). £800 seems a little high. Thanks

Also I have added an avatar, a pic of my first test ride on an SD 11 years ago
I suspect you're supposed to do that thing with the front wheel in avatars? My current bike's a 2009 in white, I"ll bung a pic up at some point.

Ah, of course; £200 for c&s sounds OK if you're getting original/quality parts fitted, but £800 for the service sounds outrageous to me.
