Hi!

Just took delivery of a new-to-me 2008 Superduke 990. Not many in my region, so had to have it trucked halfway across the country.

No nasty surprises so far, but I’m still in the process of figuring out what has been done, what needs to be done, and what needs to be undone.

Welcome aboard the orange express! Hope you enjoy learning all about your new toy, we look forward to hearing all about it. I expect it’s not really riding weather over there now, so you have time to wrap up and start taking things off to see what’s what.
Have fun

Great looking bike there. I've got the same Yoshi exhaust. Plastic fuel tanks are susceptible to swelling thanks to the ethanol they use in fuel. I think you can coat the tank to prevent this. It happens on all bikes with plastic tanks.

Welcome.

The tank leaking while up might be overflow or breather.

I think the tank support rods were removed from the bikes as they were suspected of causing the tank stretch.

Welcome from Brisbane, hopefully the fuel tank is not a huge issue.

Fuel cap leak may be just via top up overflow not seating to cap correctly or because cap rubber seal has been removed to prevent tank vacuum/pressurisation.
