Hello,

I'm from Montana and I'm picking my 2015 1290 SDR up tomorrow. I am new to KTM and was looking for a place where I can hunt down and bounce ideas around. I have been lurking in the shadows and I'm sure that will continue but I though it was time for me to introduce myself.

Planning to blitz through the break in 650 miles this weekend and couldn't be more thrilled. I just hope the weather will play along we are at a time of year where you can sweat in the heat and get snowed on in the same day.

Im picking her up bone stock but I plan to set her up for the track in the near future. I have been wondering if anyone who has shelled out for the WP upgrade could share their thoughts. Also and alternatives I may have over looked. Ohlins website doesn't say if they have cartridges but it would be nice to go that route. I have always loved my ohlins valving and shock on my track bike.

I'm also holding out for the power parts crash sliders but that will change as I get the bike more setup for the track.

Anyway pleasure to meet you all I will go back to my lurking lol.

Welcome comrade Montana: No need to lurk what we need are strong active members. You might need slightly thick skin with some of the ribbing and opposing views but that is what makes this forum so good. It is only useful if everyone contributes so expect to see some posts and photo's from you. Use the search button to find out how to post pictures.

Enjoy that bike.

Welcome.

You can still crack 120mph (on private roads of course) keeping to the run in guidelines so it's not a painful process..

I plan to get my suspension re-valved at some point.
