Just bought the 2007 SD with all the stuff from this classified. I have 5 bikes, 2 harleys, 600rr tack bike, 954rr, and tw 200. Wanted something different, when I saw the SD I knew it was it. Look forward to learning from everyone on the site, ride safe, Danny

Thanks Guys, I know it was a very tough decision, between the bike I bought and the 2 SDR's. I think I made the right choice. It arrives tomorrow and will take it out on Sunday morning ride. I will let you know, if it is the best bike ever? I need to lower it, I am 4 10 and only weigh about 130 so if you know any tricks for lowing please let me know, thanks Danny

Welcome
You could back off the sag front and back and drop the forks through to match (you have 6" of travel so you could lose a bit...carefull though as they come with very fast steering standard so the back ride hight needs to go down by ALEAST the same amount as you dropped the front) you will need to change rear spring (US model was the MK2 and came witrh 170 rear spring you would need 160 /150 look on ebay) also I would expect the front may be to hard and need a softer spring (my mrs is 118lb and she rides my Superduke road and track she is 5' 6'')
Remove some of the foam from the seat (take cover off and remove foam from the bottom of the seat not the top ...so you keep the original profile its a bit harder than it sounds as it is not flat.....I have done this and lost about 1" maybe a bit more and it looks as good as it did before....only slimmer....rides great to)
Ride like motocross bike...just one foot down when you come to a stop
Happy riding

Welcome home
I am surprized you did not end up on a Monster.
You have probably been riding long enough to not be so challenged with the take off and landing of a tall bike and as such it is second nature to you. My hat is off to you, I would be looking for the nearest curb or boulder to land next to.
I'll see you in Austin in April. Enjoy the show!
