Hey everybody,

Checking in from San Francisco.
Just joined the site today, been riding Honda's on dirt and street most my life.
Looking to broaden my horizons a bit and as a result am taking a look at an '08 SDR this weekend.

I'm looking for some insight and advice about two things.
First off I found a thread on here from a few years ago in regards to converting an SDR from single seat to the standard SD two seater configuration. (viewtopic.php?f=1&t=18451)
If anyone has done this and has any further advice or tips that would be great! I plan to do this to the bike soon after purchasing.
Additionally I figured I would reach out and see if anyone on here has the parts I'll need for the conversion.
(SD seat, Passenger foot-peg setup, standard SD side fenders that run just below the seat)
Again this will be going on an 08 SDR, if anyone knows of other years in which the parts will fit onto an 08 please fill me in!

Lastly, a more general question, anybody have feedback and opinions on this year of the SDR? Just curious of overall performance and owner satisfaction, as well as maintenance schedule and reoccurring issues.
I'm used to riding crf 450s on the dirt and cbr's on the street both 600 & 1000. Obviously the high end performance from the cbr's won't be matched with the SDR, but that is one of the many things that has gained my interest.

Anyone willing to help me gain some perspective would be greatly appreciated!

I just bought a pristine garage kept 08 SD and was planning to do the SDR conversion for the seat. My bike only has 5k miles on it.

Thinking out loud here... maybe we could do a swap on the parts needed for what we are both trying to accomplish.
