Hi all, my name is Nigel. I reside in winchester, UK. Have been riding since 1995 came to bikes late at the age of 30. I love Twins, since purchasing a TRX850 in 2003 I have never looked back, mostly had Ducati's, owned an RC8R for a while and always fancied a SDR when the right one came along...... and it did just picked myself up a MINT 2008 SDR with a mere 3300 on the clocks. AKrapovics, carbon and in awesome condition. Last bike was a Panigale 1299S, which was simply too much for our Southern English Roads. This little beauty is superb fun. Have a couple of track days booked for next weekend in France and fully intend to get acquainted with my new purchase.

Welcome to the forum mate. You have a nice selection of bikes to compare the SD to. I too came from a series of Ducatis and found that it was a pleasant surprise to have a V twin with the same engine characteristics but built like a tank with parts that were reasonably priced! Actually after a 90's 900 Superlight Ducati which was great for fast, smooth A roads and crap around town it made a huge change to have a bike that seemed to enjoy hooning about at any speed, even on backroads where the SS was never comfortable. But it does encourage you to ride like a hooligan - be warned.

Welcome aboard Nige, good to have you on a SuperDuke and on the forum. As of 9 days ago I'm no longer just up the road from you in Newbury so I'd better update my profile details... please write loads about your French trackdays and post plenty of photos. Enjoy your new thunder pumpkin and post plenty on here

After the 205 of the Panigale..... 120BHP is Soooooooo useable. I had a 916 for 7 years and 103 BHP was an absolute delight at 7-10k rpm. Love it

Heresy here may be and despite having two '08 SDRs, have to say that my 996S is still my preferred ride - just too old, me that is, for every day commute.
