Just recently discovered this great site. I bought my Duke about 4-5 months ago and am totally in love with it. Having grown up on moto-x bikes and have owned a couple of road bikes, it seems to be the perfect bike for me. Love the bottom end tourque. I have a the Akropovic pipes on it and have removed to end to get a great sound.

The only small problem that i have had is with the clutch. I have never had anything with a hydrollic clutch before. I feel like sometimes it just doesn't quite engage properly. The problems seems to get worse in hot weather or after an hours riding or so. I have taken it to the local KTM dealer, and they changed the fluid and checked it and said everything was ok. Talking to the mechanic in the shop he said it probably had to do more with my riding style and that i need to let the revs come right back down before engaging it. Coming off a CBR600F i was pretty used to giving a bit of a squirt between gears. A couple of times now its conked out on me coming down gears when pulling the clutch, the bike actually stalls. and out of instinct ive dropped the clutch again to try and bump start it, but the back wheel just locks up and skids until i drop the clutch again. Its a bit embarrasing and dangerous too i guess.

Ive had a chat with a couple of people who ride bikes with liquid clutches and they have suggested putting in a "heavier grade" fluid (like baby oil). Seems like the slave cylinder on the clutch is fairly problematic on the dukes too. I was wondering if i bought an after-market better performance one it might help.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions id love to hear them.

Also, looking for people for weekend day rides around Melbourne/Vic area.

Cheers.
