Hi All.
Just traded my Speed Triple 2012 model in for a Super Duke.

Wasn't really looking for one, as I quite enjoyed the Triple (had a custom map from a Dyno Tuner) as well as other things, but local bike shop had $6k of their 2016 models, then when about to pull the trigger a 2017 model with 2000 km's on the clock was available I decided to go with that instead.
At $1k dearer with some bling stuff added, and the performance pack it was a no brainer for me.

So I went from this

To be honest not a fan of the colour scheme, so will be changing it to the following.
Carbon Fibre rear and front guards. I'll be buying from MotoComposites, in Mat, then painting in a semi-gloss clear (it's ok I'm a qualified SprayPainter by trade )
Then the front fairings, thinking I'll paint it the same grey as the tank, if I'm not happy with the looks after that, then I'll pain the tank and fairings black (maybe with some pearl (orange) over the top.

Other things I have on order, or will have.

Yoshi Tail Tidy
Ergo seat (front and Pillion)
Comp Werkes Exhuast
Rottweiler SAS and Canister removal kit
Bar end mirrors
Carbon Fibre Tank guard (as well as the front and rear guards)

I think that covers it all

Sounds like a good trade, hopefully the twin doesn't disappoint!

Welcome in!

Do I detect a pattern with the wheel color on your bikes? I guess you could never own a Kawasaki huh?

Thank you kindly for your post for the Firefox and Chrome Ad-ons to repair Photobucket!

Enjoy that beast!

Look at those orange wheels on the Triumph, kind of seems like you secretly wanted a KTM all along!

Be interested to hear your thoughts on a comparison of the 2 bikes.

Thanks guys, I test rode the 2016 model.
Intial thoughts was there was a lot more vibration, where the speedy seemed very smooth.

I was very surprised how easy the SD is to ride, position wise very similar to the Speedy.

I went from a 2009 Speed Triple to a 2017 SD-R too and I'd agree on the vibes vs smooth. But you expect that from a twin. Very happy so far! Hope you find the same.
