Hi all, names Allan.
Spent first half of my life in Adelaide (no known crimes against my name) and most of the rest in Hong Kong.

Am currently riding an 08 black SD and have put my name down for the 1290 in orange. Other bike is a Kwakka ZZR 1400, alternatively known as the Millenium Falcon due to hyper drive ability. I am also considering getting the 1290 Adventure R for my place on the Gold Coast in Australia.

I noticed a few members are around my age, I'm 53 today, and have a similar never too old attitude (some people say immature but they would be wrong). A common cosmic connection perhaps? or to be more scientific we were obviouslythe best swimmers of the lot, hitting the apexs of the fallopian tube at the right angles and unbeaten on the straights. Or maybe our Mum's never bought us a BMX bike.

Anyway, seems like a lot of nice people and good info on Superduke.net and am looking forward to reading the posts.
Cheers!

Welcome mate!

However dun know how a SD1290 or a kwak 1400 would make sense in HK. Do you ever get out of 1st gear?

Hi Mr Guy,
thanks for the welcome. Ha ha, your comment about the need for such bikes in Hong Kong is relevant- I regularly get out of first, usually sit on 2nd and go as far as third on a good day. Sometimes I just put it in fourth to remember what it is like.
But seriously there are a few road options to unwind a bit and get some outer tyre wear. Have to get up early before any traffic so this also helps curb my drinking problem.
