Hi Guys,
New 1290 Superduke owner here from the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.
New to this forum but been on KTM forums for many years and a loyal (ish) KTM owner/ rider since buying my first one (250GS) in 1984.
Just about ready for my first service (620 miles) and although it rides great is is not without faults! See below:
REAR WHEEL HUB EXCESSIVE PLAY (CAN BE FELT MID CORNER)
CLUTCH LEVER OCCASIONALLY CLICKS WHEN PULLED TO THE BAR
STRANGE (WIND?) NOISES FROM FRONT PLASTICS OR UNDER TANK AREA
Hopefully these will be resolved without too much drama so I can then start to really explore the bike as intended.
Already removed the hideous number plate carrier and fabricated my own, planning many mods to follow including exhaust, SAS, rearsets etc.
Dare to be different eh guys!!

Hi Hyper and welcome in mate.
Just hope KTM get their finger out and fix the 1290 quickly.
Lucky for me I haven't purchased one

Second fault is probably not a fault, just a common characteristic of a slipper clutch.

Thanks guys, I am only 45 miles from Cadwell Park and as it happens I will be there this evening as it's a free preview of The 80th anniversary meeting on Sunday 3rd August 2014 and 3 of my mates are doing a track evening on the 6th July and I was planning to go along for a look so I will look out for you and say Hi. The Superduke is booked in for its first service on monday 7th July and I my mileage will be used up tonight so I will probably be on my Honda "Scrambler" that I cobbled together so if you look out for that you can have a laugh at it.

Cadwell Park fans will get a preview of this August's 80th anniversary meeting this Monday evening (30 June), when some of the riders and bikes take to the track ahead of the big day.
The evening will include many famous names including TV presenter and double Isle of Man TT winner Steve Plater, who will be riding a variety of machines in preparation for the anniversary event. Former local hero Derek Chatterton will be taking out an MV 4, as ridden by great rival Giacomo Agostini, whilst TT Star Gary Johnson is hoping to have his first ride after the Isle of Man event. Chris Bourne will be bringing his ex-Gene Romeo TZ 750, and there will also be a 500 TZ with Jack Machin and Ian Bell at the helm.
The evening will also feature a variety of machinery from the early Manx Nortons of the 50s to the Superbikes of the 90s,
Entry to the venue for spectators is free and the event will run from 5.30 to 7:00pm.
