Hi,
Just purchased a 2007 SD with 30000 miles on the clock!!
I had an aprilia RSV1000R but suffered a back injury a couple of years ago and had to have my lower spine titanium plated,
So had to get rid of my sports bike early last year as was in agony after 10 miles.
Had a Honda FMX650 for the past year with no problems, but found it slow and boring so need something fun again or give up.
Hence the duke as it was cheap, worried about high mileage though!!!!
but didnt want to spend loads at minute in case I cant get on with it. can always upgrade to another later.
Please can Anyone give me any advice on what to look for on an SD with high mileage or should I not worry to much?
It is also standard apart from blueflame tit end cans, any advice on mods to start with as like to add bits to personalise/improve.
Many thank in advance

Hello and welcome
I bought a used SD with 48,000 miles on it, it had been well looked after and was fine (granted I didn't keep it long but only because a bargain came up !)
I've heard of adventure bus's with 90,000 on them and it's the same engine!
Mods well you have aftermarket exhausts which would be the first thing on my list, followed by the gb racing crash kit £300 well spent IMO, after that it's levers, rearset plates, smaller front sprocket (if you feel you need it, I never have) and whatever you fancy really, take a look at the mods thread to give you some ideas on how to spend money

Hello and welcome.
I too had an RSV and moved to the Superduke, not been disappointed in 6 years of owning the Superduke.
Also like you, I had a spine injury, not as severe as yours sounds. In order to make life a little more comfortable I had the suspension at both ends modified, which included a softer spring at the rear. Most will say the softer spring is a route to poor handling. Well I guess http://www.reactivesuspension.com/ did a cracking good job, because I have no complaints.
