hi to you all

Just bought a black SD, Graduating from a 625 sm.
Should be picking it up next weekend
First registered in june and only done 1500 miles.
Hoping for some unseasonably warm weather this winter!

Seems to be a couple of owners from this end of the country
Looking forward to catching up with you all soon.
regards Fleegal

welcome to the asylum!

congrats on your purchase (personally i think the black ones are faster )

the weather here in Athens is simply stunning at the moment (and a bit frightening if you think too hard about it, we've got 20 degrees celsius and sunshine in december FFS!)

Hi Fleegal, I see your from Brighton, so will have to catch up sometime, maybe Bury Hill? once the weather warms up and the council stop using the road as just some old place to dump all there spare salt,,,have to admit I've parked my SD up for the winter and riding me little dirt bike at the mo...

Jeeze!! I was told orange ones are faster.

hi boysie
whereabouts in the shire are you?
I must admit although the weather is cold and the roads salty, i haven't been able to resist going out for a blast.
mind you i have only had it 2 weeks, the attraction may wear off (not bloody likely on first impressions)
have you done any mods to your SD. sproket etc.
looking forward to catching up with you.

Hi, I'm from Widley, just north of Portsmouth,,, the only mods I have are the Akro's and fuel map, I can recomend this to all Superduke owners, it brings the bike alive, makes it easyer to ride, more friendly.

I do not know which fuel map you guys are reffering to, but the one that was uploaded into my bike to suit the Akro's was described as a race track tune, and I was strongly recommended by KTM Australia not to use it on the street.
It is not pleasant to cruise around the streets or highway on, but boy it is fun when giving it a hard time!! On hard braking and down changes it will shoot flames out of the mufflers!
It is usable on the street but would not recommend this to anyone who is not a very good rider or who uses the bike for any sort of constant speed riding.

Hi Theo, that is strange as everyone I have spoken to with the Akro's and fuel map has been very pleased with the results, and made the bike easyer to ride,,, the dealer downloaded it from the KTM site and was recomended for use with the pipes, I think it only says for race use, as it does not conform to the emission laws,, maybe there are two different downloads? Perhaps there is one for the full system which is different? It does bang on the overrun with the baffles out, that is just it running lean due to the SAS system [emisions again] blanking plates are available from KTM to bypass this,,, anyway I love the noise, sort of sounds like half a MotoGP bike

PS go to www.ktm.com and have a look at the christmas card popup,, absolute class!

As I understand the mapping for the new set of Akros (the new ones that come with rhe hole pipe) is maybe the racing one. Thats what I 'm putting on regardless of laws ect.

By the way, wellcome fleegal.

The orange ones are definetly faster!!!

Looking to get one of these great bikes in January~ then sell the Blackbird in the spring.

It's a an import in standard trim (no akraprovic etc) but with 9,000 miles on it since October 2004!

As I'm likely to put alot of miles on it too I don't really want to buy new- the depreciation would hurt too much

Happy Xmas

hi there, what kind of deal did you get on the used bike? Where are you buying it from?

as for remaps, the new Akra remap has def. improved my bike, might be my impression but it feels more civilised from low to mid rpms (i ride every day in Athens) than it did when stock... from mid to high revs it's another story... snap crackle pop before every stop light (i know it sounds juvenile but I still find this amusing) - don't know if flames come out of the rear though, will have to get a buddy to trail me once

anyone removed the Akra end pieces yet?

a black one imported from Austria with 9,000 miles on it. I reckon it should have had any gremlins sorted by now

Not sure when I'll pick it up but can't wait long. It's entirely standard .

Something to look forward to this spring for sure
