Hi All, 2015 1250 SDR owner here from St Albans in the UK.

New to KTM from a load of other twins, fantastic machine and has it's own joys and frustrations! I'm just leaving the dealer network (well, as far as I can) for servicing etc. I've done lots of work on the Aprilia and Suzukis that I have owned but not the Duca's or the BMWs. So far so good, just completed the full valve-check service on the SDR at 17,000 miles and replaced a radiator that had a pinhole in it. Working on a bike really does make you like it more.

But... I still have a General Failure fault (it was there before I serviced it and even before lock-down) and it is really annoying me. The dealer can't see me for a month, so my first post here is also to ask a question that I am sure is here somewhere but have been unable to find it. The symptoms are that after a few minutes running, the General Failure warning comes up and the engine warning light and the triangle lights up. When in neutral the engine light flashes slowly, in gear and when riding along that light is constantly on. The triangle is just constantly on from when the fault appears. When the bike first started doing this, if I stopped and restarted the engine hot (eg to stop for fuel) the lights didn't come back on but now they do.

So either...

Any ideas what it might be?

Or for my year (it seems to have changed fo the 2017 version) how can I read the codes as I do for my cars with an OBDII reader??? I can't see an adapter and would the car OBDII's read it anyway? (I am not an electronics person!)

Any thoughts very welcome and thank you in advance...
