I recently bought an 08 standard superduke. It had 7800 miles, full crash protection, re-spurung and re-valved suspension, and a full titanium Akra Evo exhaust. The problem is that he weighed 275 lbs and I'm only 200 soaking wet in full leathers. Lets just say I have ridden the snot out of this bike, knee down, wheelies, even airborne. I haven't bottomed and I still have half an inch of travel left. I added rizoma MA0011b bars and tech spec grip pads. I will be sending my suspension out to have it sprung and valved for me.
My first bike was a yamaha virago 750, then I bought an 03 SV1000s, last summer I bought a 2004 v strom 1000, and this summer my girlfriend bought a 390 duke, and now I just bought the superduke. I have been riding for 8 years, and I love tight twisting roads, riding wheelies, and track days. I put on nearly 30,000 miles on my sv and I was not planning on getting rid of her until my trailer broke and she went into the ditch and was totaled. So I contemplated all the naked bikes out there, thought about the 1290 but insurance for me was outrageous living in Michigan and being 24. I settled on the Superduke and I am falling in love again. Absolutely phenomenal bike even with my suspension not even remotely close to where I need it to be.
Anyways, thats who I am and hello everyone.
