Greetings folks. Been lurking about for a couple of weeks now, as I researched my next bike.
Picked up a spotless 2008 SD (white/black) this afternoon, from the original owner. Meticulous person, like me, who broke the bike in right, maintained it, and pampered it.
Mods already done include FMF exhaust with ECU remap, tidytail, axel sliders, Scotts oil filter, Shorai lithium battery, KTM steering stabilizer and axle sliders.
Anxious to do the CJ Designs, or MotoHooligan, air box mod. Just being able to see the injectors, from the side, after the box is gone turns my crank.
Still has the SAS on it, so that may be the next effort, once I read enough about it to know what I am doing!
Reading about the SuperDuke, and other alternatives, for months. Your hopes and expectations get really high, as you narrow down the choices.
Got about an hour on the bike, this afternoon, and it is AWESOME! Thanks to this forum, and all you guys for your postings, cause it steered me to the right choice.
45 years of riding, mostly offroad (Enduro, single track and observed trials). Probably owned 30+ motorcycles, but this is only my second street bike. Previous was a 97 Buell Cyclone. Thoroughly enjoyed it, but it doesn't hold a candle to this new baby.

Well a Texas toast to you and let me serve up a ten gallon portion of Super for that SuperDuke of yourin.
Keep that thing on two wheels or we will be hearing from Houston's finest"Houston, we got a problem".
You were a Buell fan before most and the press, though cutting much slack, were very happy with the first Buell's.
The press and all here, hear, here love this bike and You can too.

Sideway from your Ct. post. See Motorcycle Consumer News in regard to the Puig tall shield.
Mixed remarks about the taller shields, every one likes the stock.

Welcome,
Hope your anticipation of superior performance by the Duke will be fulfilled.
I drove it home and started cleaning and flushing fluids.
Ordered $1K worth of R&G Superbike accessories today.
Scared to ride it without a radiator guard and brake lever guard (lane splitter here). All the exposed cases give me the jibbies.
It really seemed docile on the way home. But that's in comparison to my RC51.
Enjoy,
