Hello to everyone!
I've been reading the forums for about a month now and learning a lot of things about my new bike. I actually saw the bike for the first time a few months ago when a friend sent me pictures of the SDR. I instantly fell in love with the bike and even had it as my wallpaper even though my bike's a Ducati.
When I went to Malaysia for the Sepang round of MotoGP, I decided to visit a custom bike show and was gob-smacked when I saw an SDR that was on display. Little did I know that my local Ducati dealer (who also sells KTM) had one that just arrived. Upon my return, I decided to visit my dealer to get some parts for my bike when I saw the SDR as soon as I walked in. Suffice it to say, I couldn't resist drooling over the bike and after reading the posts here as well as many other articles, I was sold. I talked to my dealer and the deal was made! I am now the proud owner of a new SDR!
At any rate, just wanted to say hello to everyone and thanks for all the great info in the forum!
Cheers.

Thanks for the warm welcome folks! Yep, I've learned a lot about our bikes since finding out about this site. It's actually one of the reasons I really made a decision to get the bike. Been riding twins in the last couple of years but I must say that the Duke has one of the smoothest V-Twin engines I've ridden. A lot of people have asked what mods I will put on but really, I can't think of anything, except maybe Akra Evo exhausts. This bike deserves to be motorcycle of the year as already published in some mags!

Welcome AJ, Baggieman is from Leeds.....England I think, I live in the USA
I also was sucked in by this one site, looking to find out about the arrival date
to the US for the SDR, And I must admit that it (all I read here) was in fact true.
the SD & SDR I believe to be the best bang for the buck overall.
have fun, ride safe,
joe

Same here different flag. I do think that Ducati and KTM would be an interesting combo. For a bike shop. Many parts are interchangeable.

Welcome AJM to the SDR Club, can sympathise with your being only one of a few owners, in NZ there are only about 4 or 5 SDR owners, 3 of which are on this forum.
Have fun!

Joe, very amusing, I would rather be from your side of the pond than be from 'Dirty Leeds' (That is a football ((soccer)) reference)
I only have one head, my fingers are not webbed and I have no sexual attraction to animals with wooly coats.
These may be positive traits in your conuntry but sadly here they only identify you as a NORTHERN MONKEY
