Hello all I'm happy to say I've seen the light and the light is orange. Well black in my case with a few wee orange bits. I decided to wrap up my GSXR750K5 for the winter, it does not work well on anything other than decent dry tarmac and as with all Suzuki's the paint will fall off if it gets cold. Having just gotten back into biking five years ago after a ten year gap I couldnt face a whole winter without two wheels, I live in scotland winter goes on a bit.
So bought an early model 990 Superduke to play with.
Went for a 900 mile trip over last three days in the highlands, normally at this time of year on a sports bike that means lots of nervous tippy toeing around trying not to slide into a ditch or hit a sheep or deer. So no domestic animal or wildlife problem with this bike, everything just runs away, the noise it makes is incredible, ditched the earplugs just to listen to the backfires on overrun. Then theres the ride, I know I'm preaching to the converted and sorry for banging on a bit but bloody hell.
I swear I was faster on some of these roads which are now cold damp and covered in sheep shit than I ever have been on the GSXR at the height of summer, the bike just inspires confidence, anyone want a suzuki?
The bike needs a few bits to make it look nice, the tail and face are carbon and look crap so I will replace with oem parts also levers are naff but all easily fixed.
The only problems I have with this bike are the comedy tank range 70/80 miles top up to reserve??? And the seat, is that real granite or some kind of composite?
So any suggestions on where to buy bits would be appreciated, seat first.
Be safe.

Welcome to the club.
I have near enough the exact same bike and also had a K5 although mine was black, 1000 and track focused.
Once you get used to using lower revs and the riding position the SD is a hoot so have fun and wrap up warm

Welcome......yes the light is Orange (lower seat Height)
and the range is poor but you get use to that as well ....and you have 4 litres left when the light comes on

Welcome to the nut house.
Have a look at getting an 07+ (larger) tank. I've got the same model which I was lucky to get 90 miles with, but now get about 120 miles before I have to really start looking for a petrol station with the newer one
