Afternoon Everyone
I will start by saying Happy New Year to you all
I have joined up here as I am looking to buy a 990 Superduke this year. I have been reading reviews on them and they sound like a great all round bike.
I was originally looking at getting a Yamaha R6 but after just sitting on one in the showroom it was blindingly obvious that I wouldnt be able to ride it for more than about 20 mins without getting serious back ache! I broke my back after falling down some stairs a few years ago and the lay down position becomes pretty uncomfortable pretty quickly!
So I popped into a local bike shop who happened to have a SuperDuke which I had a long sit on and didnt seem to get any twinges etc
I am going to have a good look round the forum to try and pick up on anything to look out for
Cheers
Sammo

Hi folks, I'm new to the forum so thought I'd better introduce myself.
I'm Jonny (obviously), I live near Guildford, Surrey, UK, I'm 24 and have been riding for 7 years. I've just put a deposit down on a brand new Superduke, in orange. I got it from P+H in Crawley, after they made me an offer I couldn't refuse.
I'm trading in my R1200GS, which been a great bike don't get me wrong, comfortable, practical and pretty good fun to ride, it's just a bit on the boring side in comparison to the SD. But then I'm sure I don't need to explain that to you lot!
Anyway just thought I'd say hello before I start rambling on

Howdy Johnny, it must've been a fantastic offer, to get rid of the slower orange bikes. Shame, but they handle as good as the black though, so it's not all bad Enjoy!!!
