Hello everyone,

So here I am, nicogri, or Nicolas in the real life ^^

28 years old, maried, tagged et vaccinated... I actually ride a pretty SD 07 for 4 months (but it snowing bad right now so a little less).

Before that I always own "4 in line" bikes and I changed wellllll a lot !

Yamaha XJ600N '96 (34 hp here in France for young drivers)
Yamaha FZ6S '04 (106 hp so max allowed in France)
Yamaha FZS1000 '04 (too) really full this time (130 hp with bridging carbs open up airbox and can) for me the best bike I never owned... a mad versability and lot of character (thanks to the carbs I think) it's the bike I kept the longer (3 years and 50000 kilometers) it has 80000 kms when I sold it to my brother in law.
Yamaha YZF-R1 '09 (the new one) full again (180 hp because I am a bad guy) A nice toy but way too exclusive and to keep for track days, I had it on the same time as FZS and so I used it a little (only to ride on sunny days ^^)
Kawasaki ZZR1400 '09 full again again (200 ch because I love to play with the fire) I bought this bike when I sold my FZS1000 and R1 at the same time to have only one bike that be some kind of a mix of the previous two with some confort but lot of power... It was all that but a little heavy and "driver license trap"

So you must wonder... what am I doing here ???

In fact I was tented to go check what's with the twin (just to see by myself) ? I didn't see me on a Ducati because even if it's beautifull I find it sluggish and I didn't see myself on a Buell because I find I miss of "allonge" (maybe extends)

Longh story short I chose the Superduke 990 !

So now I am among you to get the best of it...

As probably many of you I am a bit scared by the myth of european bike always out of order and wich cost a lot on repair... and the myth isn't a myth for some... I have a friend with a recent Guzzi that piss oil on the road to hollydays even if it take very good car of it... 2 month to get the spare parts from factory... so even if Austrians are on the other side of Alps... clichés die hard ^^

I tried a SD in 08 but I was not in the same mood because I was young (and stupid)

That's what I wrote about it (in french)

Anyway has I ride 30 to 50 percent time with my wife as a passenger, SD was not that approved, I think I need to add :

A tank cover "bagster" to put my bagster bag equipped with a handle (OK done).
Some carbon akra heat shield for the cans maybe reenforced on the inside by aluminium tape or something like that
A Gel Ergo Seat "Ass saver"
Maybe a rear handle (on top of tail light) but something I can easely remove when I ride solo.

Voili voilou (in french in the text

See ya

It's an -07 (born in june) so the new one...
In opposition of what "ecopes" says, it's not an R but they are soooo pretty ^^
It as 14000 kms (checks up to date in KTM dealers)
I give her akra after buy (pretty good deal 1000€ brand new)
What to say... a KTM as to be orange : check
- Thats all folks

Welcome! I don't think the lack of a fuel indicator is a really bad thing. Just use the day trip indicator to see how much you can ride before you need to tank and there's always the fuel light giving you at least 30km to go.

Have fun with the bike and don't forget the 'free mods'.

Bonjour and welcome to the nuthouse.

I'm sure you will find that living with this bike isn't as hard as you thing it will be.

Enjoy the bike and the site.
