Looks like Feb. I'll be taking delivery of a Black SD. Anxious to ride, was a big coin toss between the SD and the S4RS

Hi Buck,

I am still wondering if it actually is a coin-toss between the S4RS and the SD?

I have seen dyno's of both.. and I have reports of the Monster... but from what I understand the chassis is not what it should be the handling only goes so far. The engine is a real beast but that isnt everything.

The prob is that all reviews I have seen as all blissful and no real comparison. Few articles actaully thrash the bike on the road where it will be used. Plus give negative comments.... this is also the case for the SD.

I am still waiting on a REAL comparison. Can you shed any light of a good review / real info? Cheers....

BTW: I love Ducati's and have had a few. I also considered forking out the $$ for the S4RS. That and the Aprilia Tuono. I have previously owned Monsters and a Triumph Speed Triple - in this category bike.

Gregz....... fast bikes did a test with the SD against the Ducati S4 if i recall, and the monster engine was indeed praised for its power..... but overall the package was not as good as the KTM as you say power is not everything if it cant be used

Buck... welcome the the forum, and soon to be sd owner...... i agree you will not be disapointed with the bike,i too purchased mine without a test ride, and all the magazine articles i read prior to,and since purchase have been bang on..... its a stunning bike
