Sunset on Hwy 1, California
I took my KTM SD for a 24 hour, 600 mile roadtrip down Hwy 1. Pic was taken south of Big Sur. Awesome!

Hello,

I am Miguel. Just bought a new 2008 SD.

I put my name on the "list" to buy one back in 2005. But because of delays with the 2006 and the new engine being introduced I ended up pulling my deposit and bought something else.

Well, then in Nov 2011 I am fortunate enough to aquire a new 2008 SuperDuke and a very fair price. So far I have done alot of personalizing to my KTM. Still looking at exhaust options. Have been thinking of making a custom single can. But have also been told that this would be a poor move for performance and longevity for the exhaust can. But I am a still thinking about it.

About me... I am a long time rider with history in Supermoto racing, touring, enduros, sportbikes... scooters! I still have my first bike. A Yamaha FZR400 which I purchased new in 1990. I have done alot of modifications to this wonderful machine. I have owned over 20 bikes, Currently I have four bikes with a possible fifth in the works. (A true garage find, 1956 BSA Catalina Gold Star owned my a 70+ year old lady)

I look forward to much banter and info sharing.

Ciao!

Miguel

Look into the FMF apex the shape looks perfect on the duke and they are made here in the USA.They sound great. price is not cheap but good I also have a 08 got it last year love it. because of this forum I have met some great people who know these bikes better than the dealers. There are a few things you can do which make the duke run so much better and help get rid of the surging.I did all these things and now my duke runs so great so fast it's such a fun bike and so comfy.I also have an RC8 I put the FMF on that one too not as comfy but so fast it's unreal.
The motobox and the O2 eliminators work great and of course a good map the akra map is not bad but if you can get a custom map that is even better.
I bunch of us are track junkies and the duke is a lot of fun on a track.I have learned so much from the guys here I would have made mistakes on products because of them I did the right thing.Akra pipes are popular because KTM works with them and they make a full race system with a map unless you intend to race it I think it's not worth the cash.
Welcome to the forum because I am in the M/C business I get great prices on things PM me if you want to know if your getting a good price on things.I too have lots of bling on both my ktm's I rep for techniche-intl.com they make some neat stuff check them out.
Good luck with your duke enjoy the ride
