Hi All

Just signed up. am new to on-road bikes coming from a moto-x background in SA.

Picked up the 2011 duke 690 R on the 1st of march and within days knew i had made a mistake. got back on the buzzer to the dealer and just picked up my 2010 SD on thursday just gone. well what can I say, i love the machine.

Need to make some mods though i.e. akropovic's.

Quick Q out to all, not to keen on the orange, whats the best way to get my hands on some black spoliers etc? will then custom graphic

another thing i have noticed is that in 1st,2nd & 3rd it appears as though there is some sort of limiter on it just before going into the red, this normal? if so how can i change it?

Anyhow, thats me babbling on.

peace

There is a restriction in 2nd and 3rd gear. There is a bypass that involves cutting wires, there is a walk through somewhere here.

My advice would be to get some Akras and then apply a new map to the ECU with this thing of beauty. Thread here viewtopic.php?f=5&t=12511
Maps page here viewtopic.php?f=18&t=14763
More maps http://www.tomhamburg.net/KTM_Tune_list.html

New maps are being added all the time!

Then if funds allow one of these. Oh baby!

Welcome mate!

The limiter can also be disabled without cutting the wires. Just use TuneECU to disable it (uncheck EPC and send the modified map to your bike).

The AKRA map already has EPC disabled.

Thanks Guys.

Let me crack on and start to sort, my dealer is currently doing akro's at cost so might go for it.

Regading maps, looking at all the links there doesn't appear to be any 2010 SD maps yet, am i missing something ?

Right.

Dealer has a special on akras at the mo, either .....
Titanium round ends at £650 or the carbon babies at £1015. Both fitted and mapped.

What to do?
Are there any performance differences between the two ? Or is it purely aesthetics and weight?

Regarding the motobox, I have been told it will render the warranty void so might hang off a bit.

Advice would be useful.

Cheers

650 for some akro rounds is not at cost! I bought some new akras on ebay new for 400 once

Take a look on ebay there are plenty of brands.

No difference on power between cans unless you get a full system.
