You will almost certainly run into the rev limiter a lot to start with. The bike handles great but to start with the feel is odd because tyhe riding position is so different.
Now I am used to it I love it. Sure that you will too. Brakes are especially good and you can easily surprise your sports bike riding mates on one.
Have fun!

Hi Mac,
I've just come from an FZ1 and the SD is a million times more fun ... you'll love it.
I may be over in Swindon this Sunday, If I am I'll msg you.
Enjoy ... oh yea, I was hitting the limiter a bit to start with too
Sean.

Welcome Mac. I have an 09 GSXR parked in the garage - and that's where she spends most of her time.

Picked it up yesterday seany.
08 plate 3000 miles, akkys .wp damper, decent rear seats, single seat conversion.
I pinned it as soon as i got it and it was fookin fast!!
I drove home from garage to swindon about 40 miles ish and had a massive shit eating grin all the way home hehehe
It gets windy at 150 ...apperently...ahem cough.
First thing i want to do is get some decent shorty levers, everything else im pretty happy with.
I love it
Cheers all

Welcome to the world of SD! Look up the threads on Motohooligan Motobox. It's a replacement for the power sucking airbox and will liberate a good 5-8 more horses. You will find out sooner or later about all the other little mods, (SAS, 2nd gear restricter, O2 eliminators, etc) as you go along but the sooner the better.

Cheers for the info bic.
The only thing im noticing is you have to be well up in the revs in each gear.If im not i felt it was struggling even a bit lumpy.
Could be shitty fuel or just the lack of use.Its been of the road for the last 6 months.
It`ll all work out im sure
Aaron we`ll have to get a few from the south west and get some miles done.
Mac
Akky baffles in or out?

Baffles in so they don't hear you having fun. . The old bill will only get arsey with you otherwise. I guess it depends how vulnerable your licence is!

I just fitted a Leo Vince system, took the baffles out ... OMG it's loud ... not sure if it's just a little bit too obnoxious tho. I'm gonna take it out again today and decide.
To all you south west guys, if you plan a get together/ride out then count me in

Baffles out the only way boys.
Ive all ways had race cans or race systems on my bikes and never had any problems, if you see a copper just put it in 5th or 6th and cruise by works every time
if its too loud your too old ha ha

In all the times I have been pulled by cops or stopped at road side check I've only had 1 copper mention baffles. And then he only said maybe I should think about putting them in.
