I'm very glad to be here, and I'm thankful for this interesting forum.

I'm eyeballing the 2015 1290 Super Adventure, but I'm not really sure I'm in the "right place" to ask about it.

I went to KTMForums and listened to the crickets chirping over there (no one was home).

There's KTMTalk and ADVRider, I think good resources for the Adventure cycles.

What do you guys thinK? Am I in the "right place" for asking / mulling about the SA?

Thanks.

I haven't seen or ridden the super adventure yet. I don't think many have been delivered to dealers which might explain the silence.

In all honesty I can't see the point. If you want touring and off road get the 1190 ADV. I rode that and it's capable off road and a great tourer.
If yo want touring and scratch a peg from time to time and maybe trow in a track day get a 1290 superduke. It is very comfy on longer trips.

The 1290 ADV will fall somewhere in between that and is a ploy to attract people who think beemer but want something more exclusive.
It will be too heavy for off road and the extras are gimmicks on road.

ADVRider seems more likely, but any way I think ktmguy gave it to you straight. I have 1190 Adventure R - it does it all.
