Been trying to figure out where to mount my gopro cam on the 1290. Cant seem to find a spot that im happy with. I always ride with a tank bag attached to a tankring, so that is excluded. So, where is everyone else fixing theirs? Both forward and rearward. How do you cope with vibrations?

The surface between the indicators is perfect! Use the curved sticky mount and not rotation or anything needed.
I've got one there and I'm going to throw another on the pillion cover facing backwards. Here is some pictures of what the video look like from that angle. Almost like KTM planned the front mount.

You also only hear the engine with it there, can't hear the wind at all which I really like. Here's a quick video of it I did for my little bro the other day: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZsytrKQaYgk

OK, i will give it another look then. I was a bit worried that when pushing hard the weight of the camera would break the plastic, because it looks really loose.
On another note, i tried using the mount in the picture here, clamped around the tail tidy facing backwards. The angle was great and it looked really cool filming my buddy who was chasing me, too bad the picture shakes too much.

Mines stuck at the top of the headlight with a curved mount. Effectively blocks bugs from getting caught in the "bug catcher" in-between the indicators and doesn't affect the view if the DRL. The headlight is also a damn secure/perfect surface to mount to seeing as there aint much in the way of clear coated surfaces to adhere to.
