Our nordic friend got someone to cut new sensor plates for the front and rear wheel with 10% less tooth in them.
I looked in to it and that's the easiest and best solution so far. It doesn't affect the ABS or TC.
What we need to do is have a look if there is one available of the shelve like from aprilia, bmw or so that fits easily and works.
Or get motohooligan or someone with access to a laser cutter to pump some out.
If I get the same bike I'll look in to it again.

I did the actual vs. the indicated using a GPS and it is almost 16% off!!!! That is just ridiculous!!!!
I called the two companies that I was able to find that make the correction modification (speedo healer and 12oclock labs) and 12oclock labs told me they can not do it and speedo healer is working on something.
I know its been concluded since the speed is based off of the ABS/MTC ring sensor the only way to fix it so far is cutting new disks with more slots, anyone that has tried this does it work? And how close is your speed now?
Thanks

I go as fast as I'm comfortable and rarely use the speedo for verification.
It's what's comfortable.

If I had the original CAD files I could have the design corrected in less than 2 hours and the design changes could be seamlessly integrated into their current production lines. WTF its not hard to fix. Pretty slack I recon.
I would prefer to know exactly how fast I'm going and to see the correct numbers on the dash, same as all the other parameters I see on the dash. Should I expect that they too are up to 15% inaccurate
It shouldn't be up to the customer to produce a fix; thats ktm's part but they seem a long way away from their customers sometimes.

I read somewhere here that the dealer was able to change the diameter of the front wheel, and that this was wrong from the factory making the speedometer read too fast. Set an inch smaller should make it about right. IS this possible? Reading this thread it would appear they can't change it.

With the 43T ABS ring, GPS speed at 100KPH = Speedo reading of 100KPH, the 44T results to follow soon as we need to add compensation for tyre wear.
OEM ring 48T on the left, 43T modded ABS ring right

I decided to check mine againt GPS yesterday, used my android phone and Ulysse speedometer it was
100% accurate in my 370Z. made a quick reference chart and taped it to the handlebar started up Diablo
Super Biker and went for a ride! good app to later check my speed anywhere along my ride.
So for my US model..
Target Speed on left and MPH over needed on the right. I still need to get any with a ?
Trying to get anything between 20 and 30 mph under 4000 rpm was fun erm not really

The other unknown that I don't know the answer for, has the speedo been corrected on the 2015 models if there is any difference between the 14's & 15's the ABS rings will show a different result. I have sent ktmguy a PM as I want to send him a set to try for us to confirm, if he is to busy over the next week or so I will need a local rider in Brisbane to test them for me?
Once I get the pricing next week I will know how much it will all cost & how many guys that want a set?

Edit: Had a quick search and found reducing in height from a 70 to 60 would bring the speedo reading within 1km of the true speed (working on 8% over read at 100kph)
I`d be sticking to the "sharper" 70 height tyre though

Not sure if this allows the introduction of a new scaling factor or ??? Unfortunately, the cost of the unit is several thousand dollars. But it implies that the dealer computer should be able to change the scaling factor. Maybe they are just reluctant to modify the setting.

Here are a few before/after photos.
70 MPH before the rings were installed. - exactly 10% off! It's a bit hard to read, but the GPS speed is 63 MPH.
70 MPH after the rings were installed (notice the change in RPMs). The speedometer is about 1/2 MPH off. It will click up to the next MPH just before the GPS does so. That's about as good as it gets!
Installing these rings also had an affect on the odometer reading.
Before the installation, the odometer read high by 3.8%, or 103.8 miles at 100 miles on the GPS (lighting was bad, so I had to take 2 pictures). Here are the numbers to do the math.
After the installation, the odometer reads low by about 4.7% (rounded up), or 95.3 miles at 100 miles on the GPS. Here are the numbers to do the math. I don't understand the difference in the odometer reading. I thought it would've gone down by 3.8%.

So, why do I care ? I don't - at first I was overworked about it but now I am just living with it - I go the pace of the other cars in the urban areas where the law enforcement live - in the rural areas where I ride most of the time on the twisiie 2 lane raods who cares? I don't care what the speeds are on the bike and as long as I/m enjoying myself who cares?
I used to worry about all those little quirks on every bike I owned - not now - I just ride this bike and enjoy it - best bike I've ever owned bar none

Can anyone who has painted the rings comment on what products they used and how they're holding up? Know I should have the rings powder coated, but I'm not setup for DIY coating and the only local shop I trust always has a long backlog of work. Wondering if I can get by with Rust-oleum rattle cans or something; the inaccurate speedo is driving me crazy!
