I'm looking for suggestions on a small tail pack that I can securely fasten to the rear seat as I have what my riding buddies consider a phobia of flats. I will NEVER leave on a ride without my tyre plugging kit and at least 3 of the co2 bottles to inflate the tyre with. I've been caught out before and vow it will never happen again so I'm always prepared. Problem is the 1290 has zero room to carry the kit and bottles so I've been carrying them in my jacket which is getting annoying. I usually carry a manta tank bag which is small but I can carry my tyre plug kit, bottles and a pressure gauge. I want something small that will fasten down without rubbing the paint off the tail plastic and doesn't look like Jed Clampett strapped it on the bike with duct tape. On a similar note is the seat cowl available for the 1290 yet? I was thinking if I could get one it may give me enough room to carry my plug kit under the cowl.

I have tried using a Kriega US10 and a US20 and it works great. The pillion seat already comes with the loops fitted to attach the kriega packs which makes it easier than on any bike i have previously owned.

I use the single seat cowl Part No.61307940044 as I don't pillion.
Because it's hollow it fits both the KTM tool kit and a puncture repair kit.
When I need extra storage I have the 36ltr bag Part No.61312928000 and leave it attached to the original seat.
When needed, just swap them over.
Others have replaced the lead acid battery with the smaller Lithium battery which creates room for a puncture kit.
