2007 SD Euro Headlight Conversion Question

I recently acquired my 2007 SD and am looking at converting to the european headlight (http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-950-990-adv ... -headlight).
Before I go ordering (expensive) parts I have a couple questions for those who have already done this or are familiar with the process. Feel free to point me to a how-to if there already is one; I haven't found one yet.
1) Is the euro headlight a direct swap? If not, what is needed? (Repin a couple connectors? Add relays?)
2) Do I need the "KTM 950 990 Adventure European Headlight Switch" (http://www.ktmtwins.com/ktm-european-headlight-switch)? For various reasons I hope not to need it. Open to hear people's opinion and experience with it.
3) I'm planning to add an HID bulb for the low beam. KTM twins sells one they advertise as working well with the euro headlight conversion (http://www.ktmtwins.com/yana-shiki-ktm-h7-hid-light-kit). Any experience with this or recommendations for/against? It doesn't say what color comes in the full kit, but i'm guessing it's the 6000K they sell as a replacement. I'd prefer 5000K or lower (not a fan of bluish headlights, and it would be nice to kinda match the high-beam halogen). Open to other recommendations for the HID kit.

Thanks guys!
