990 SDR Seat Conversion

So,

I have been looking into the SDR seat conversion for my 2008 SD Orange and Black.

I have had no issues in purchasing certain parts like Mirrors and Levers(CRG), Stabilizer(GPR), Intake, Rear-set adjuster plates, and other miscellaneous pieces of bike art(MotoHooligan), and rear-sets(Attack Performance). Very HAPPY with the interaction I have had with these folks in buying parts!

BUT, I cannot seem to make my wishes clear to the people at KTM when asking for the parts list breakdown for the SDR seat conversion. I can find no such animal on any KTM web-site. I am hoping that someone out there has had dealings with someone who can provide me with this most vital piece of information, so I can move on with my mod's.

Anyone??

PLEASE!!!

Single seat conversion is relatively simple.

You need the plastic under tray, the light if different I think, the seat and seat surround. take the old stuff off, put the new stuff on. Subframes are identical, job done.

I think there may even be a how to thread on here done by the Reaper but I might be imagining that.

This subject comes up every so often.

It's far cheaper to buy the whole set up from KTM for the single seat conversion than to buy all the bits separately. It is fairly straight forward but will take a good few hours following the instructions.

The best place to get a kit in the UK (in my experience) is from Jim Aim. They will deliver within a few days. Very reliable. Just ring them and ask if the kit is still available.

Yeah,

I know its expensive, that's why I am looking for that parts list, so I can hunt up pieces-parts as they come up for sale. KTM does not seem to have the standard "exploded view" with parts #'s so a guy can pick up used stuff, as it comes around. Hopefully, the guy's at KTMTWIN's will get back to me with it. If they do, I will post it!

Until then, I am still looking!!!

OK,

Found a dealer that has the exploded view, http://www.partspitstop.com/, just look under the 2008 SuperDuke R, section. You will have to look at, at least three different boxes to get all the parts, but they are all there, with the part #'s and amounts of the proper nuts and bolts. Still doing the math, but at least I can now make a more informed decision. Didn't think it would be this hard to find what appears to be a fairly popular option for us standard Duke riders.

Hope this simple search benefits more than just myself.
