990 throttle body sync?

I'm just gearing up to do this job soon.

Three quick questions..

1. I'll pull the vacuum pipes from the MAP sensors to use. I've read that as long as I disconnect the electrical connectors as well then no errors will be stored - is this correct?

2. Does the engine need to hot to do this (I'm guessing it'd be better to do hot anyway).

3. TPS - any need to mess with it whilst doing this job?
I don't have the adaptor lead to use TuneECU but I could probably make one, or buy one if I got desperate.

I have no running issues BTW, just doings some servicing jobs before bringing her out after winter.

Thanks.

Somerset, well almost Devon really.

I'd forgotten - can send TuneECU cable on loan or meet up in Somerset to collect (down every six weeks or so) if you wish.

'Fraid cannot comment sensibly on your sync queries as mine have always been done by Paul R. with his electronic gizzmo.

Thanks for the offer No.47 but I already have the OBD interface lead, I just need the adaptor lead with the KTM style plug on it. They are about £10 from fleabay or if pushed I could simply link the correct pins and that would work.

I'd really like to avoid all of that though. I'm looking to do it with a home-brew carb balancer as that will be more accurate.

See for TPS adjustment without the TuneECU Cable

Ah, mine's running a custom map in a PCIII so I guess I'll be leaving the TPS alone!

Am I still ok to balance the throttle bodies though (if they need doing)?
