After replacing the voltage regulator, the Ballistic lithium battery showed 13.2 volts. When I attempted to start the bike, nothing except a couple of clicks, and the codes. Put the old battery in, and the bike started right up and was charging 14.3 volts at idle, and at 4000 RPM. Could the defective regulator have ruined a brand new lithium battery? If so, why didn't the old conventional battery suffer the same fate?
