Bit of Advice Needed

I've just got myself some Akrapovic cans (waiting for them to arrive), and I've been reading up on other mods that can be done.

I've already done the 2nd and 3rd gear mod after reading up on here how to go about it.

I'm just about spent up for the foreseeable future, so changing the airbox is out of the question at the minute, but I've been reading about the SAS plate mod. Can this be done without changing the airbox, or do I wait until I change it? (New airbox won't be this year for sure). If it can be, is it worth it on it's own?

Also, Tune ECU is all new to me. I know you need a cable and a laptop, but little else. Is it just like adding a map onto a Power Commander? I've done this on my KLV1000 and it was a doddle. I'm assuming with the new cans on, some sort of different map is going to be needed?

I also fancy going for a different back sprocket. Was thinking about a 40, or maybe 41. I've read a few posts on here about it. I know the adjusters have to be turned round if I'm not adding a link on the chain (which I don't plan on doing, chain is still in good nick, no need for a new one for a while yet). I realise there'll be a difference between either of them and the 38, but is there a big difference between a 40 and a 41 (except 1 tooth

Thanks.

On any other model bike I have been able to remove the emissions crap and just block the holes to the airbox. I purchased my bike with an airbox installed already but I bet with a little fiddling around you could keep the stocker and just install the plates and plug some holes after you remove the hoses

Don't worry about all the sas, o2 stuff, just get the tuneecu setup and all can be switched on and off from there.
Loading a map is similar to a powercommander.
Tuneecu maps fuel and ignition and can do more like turning sas, o2, 2-3rd gear limiter on and off and is also a diagnostic tool. (use it to balance the throttle bodies and rest faults....)

Read trough the tuneecu tread, I know it is a bit long, but it will explain a fair bit of questions you have.
