Now living in SG, not worth the tax/duties to import my 990 SD from London even though shipping is not too expensive.
For a bit of freedom/fun I bought a new ST 765 RS, even though on shore taxes are every expensive, adds about 6-7k GBP to the on-road cost, though includes paying up-front for a 10 year Cert. of Entitlement.

Comparison
Has a fly by wire throttle, very smooth, but on purpose sluggish at low revs. Hah, even in track mode the throttle is much less reactive than the 990 SD. Bit boring.
Quick shifter I am sure is good but seems little different from going up gears with no clutch, just quick release of throttle on the SD. Maybe even a touch slower.
has a slipper clutch so NO engine braking. Would rather have some, though not as much as with the SD, for me, hard downshift or 2 entering corner almost always made the read wheel slide a bit. Mostly got very used to and a bit of fun, but nice to have a bit more stability if riding harder.
Still only being run in but much less torque, my SD used to make me laugh every time I accelerated from a stop if I wanted to have a small hoon.
Suspension hasn't been changed from factory std road settings yet, but seems springs are firm enough, might even reduce some preload as front has almost no sag atm.
Brakes are surprisingly a bit better. Only 50 KM, tried to scrub in pads if needed with strong stops but even now, better than than SD. rear brake though seems even more useless than the SD.
ABS not intrusive, have not experienced the front coming on yet, even with some hard stops. I rode an older SD adventure when my SD was serviced and the ABS on that was very intrusive, came on about what I thought was a 1/2 power stop.
Can put both feet flat on the ground and im only 5 8/9 and bike very light.
Bars are wide, but maybe because of front geometry?, bike doesn't turn in as well with a handle bar twitch, seems to rely much more on body move/peg load, so seems very stable in corner, but maybe a bit less 'flickable'.
Only been to 1/2 revs so far, can imagine grin factor in the top 1/2 of the range.
Intend to use for some touring too.

Where in the world is SG?
"has a slipper clutch so NO engine braking" - I'm sure that's a slight exaggeration lol. Good to hear you're enjoying it, have you finished running it in yet?
