well since i changed my 2008 sd for an RC8 which i had for two years i have had an smr 990 which i bought new in sept 2013, was good and did enjoy her but filling up so often did piss me off somewhat so i put her up for sale in may just to see what the interest would be, someone called me with a end of 2010 vfr 1200 ann wanted to swap but at first i said no way not my type but then after a couple of weeks i thought well i could see it and then i made an offer of €500 and my bike and he said yes so i now have the VFR and after the first weekend on her by the monday i was ready to sell jajajaajajaaja
but i have now changed the tyres and i must admit i am suprised by the bike and i do like her but deep down im not 100% with her, she takes some hustle round the cornes but dose go around and i think its just having more confidence with her but i am enjoying it although come on KTM with the new supeduke as am itching to get one!!!!!!
i thought at 40 i would be ready for the vfr but....... if i had the funds the vfr would be in my garage though just not sat too close to an sd as i think i would walk in one morning to find the poor old VFR in the corner shaking

After a couple of years commuting in a VFR750 Rc36 I was in need for something more sporty.
The ktm dealer had a test-drive and the rumble from the V2 never left my mind.
Still kept the VFR a perfect all rounder that is easy to maintain but changed jobs and no need to ride the bike to work so I let the vfr go.
But while I had both, rarely the VFR came out to play

It's ok to experiment with other brands/styles. Did the Harley thing, the custom V-Twin thing and even went with a suspension modified Goldwing for several years, but all it did was remind me what riding is all about...HAVING FUN!! At 63 I'm on a SDR and the FUN has retuned to my riding.

The sd was quicker on your typical back road but get onto some good sweepers then the vfr is there, not had it on track yet but did do lots on the sd and i think it would be hard to beat say at cheste which is were i was most with the sd, do have to admit that the vfr is a suprising bike tho! But i still want the new sd when it arrives in spain just hop the price is right or else i will wait for second hand one so for the time being the vfr stays

The VFR is for me a perfect all rounder.
Not the perfect commuter, not the perfect tourer, not the fastest B road carver. But does all that in very good way.

I loved my RC36 VFR, the whine of those gear-driven cams was pretty sweet at 9k rpms. It was a barn find that I painted "machinery grey" with True Value rattle-can. Heavy old girl, though. I love that early 90s era of white wheels on bikes, wonder when that will return...
