So after riding the SD for a year and a half now i've decided to up my game alittle and exercise some common sense and get some riding pants with CE protections. I've been riding with cotton levis and really feel vulnerable . Tried Cycle Gears Racing leathers that were on sale for 100$ the other day and took em home and rode in them - they fit at the store but when riding i just can't get my Arse situated in the saddle ( Too tight in the rear )...... so i brought them back ...

Anyway i've changed my mind on Leather and am going for these -------> http://www.ebay.com/itm/261201344783?it ... 23&vxp=mtr

they're custom made to order by providing all body measurements ... Not as protective as leather i realise but sure a step above cotton pants. I can always get leathers later if i find i just have to.........

just wondered if anyone here has tried these out .....

cheers

No but - http://www.motolegends.com/jackets/barb ... black.html - have not been without a Barbour International since '73 and now it might actually be up to the job - it's yet more of the Steve McQueen, Triumph and Barbour thing but you never know.

Interesting....looking for the same but must be cool (I live in Florida).
My idea was to buy one size larger and wear over working pants and remove then when I get to work.
Let's see what we can find...

Aerostich one piece with shorts underneath. Stop, strip, and be cool in more ways than one.
Made for life by people that have been doing this for a while. I believe there is a Roadcrafter light out there now that is just the ticket.
Antimonkeybutt is your friend.

I actually have good gear but I am being transferred on my job which will change my commute from 6 miles a day to 40.
I usually only rode the SD on decent weather and on Florida winter but now I have think also on gas millage.....but Florida in the summer is hot an humid

Just get yourself a good leather one piece suit with plenty of ventilation holes. Cool-skin (or alike) thermo suit underneath to keep your skin dry and cool and you're good to go. Safer, better looking and rides a lot better with more feel and contact with the bike.

I just destroyed a pair of Tourmaster Overpants. Good protection, good fit, kept me warm below freezing. I'm buying another pair for sure.

Good timing with this topic. I just logged on to post a question on knee protection. As some of you know, I did the superman without a cape dive onto pavement this March when a bone head turned left in front of me from a middle lane when I was in the left lane. Good thing it was a 25 mph zone. Getting better but want a drag. Missing out on spring dirt biking is driving me bonkers! I was going to lunch in jeans, something that I have been doing for years. Now I wear my one piece "Stich everywhere and wish the heck I had it on in the crash. But I am in the market for something lighter, easer to put on. Dang near ready to try my dirt bike knee protection over my jeans. That is what I want to protect, knees. I lost my ACL in the crash, along with 20 degrees of motion. It's coming back, but slowly. Last weekend I went for a 150 mile ride on my Adventure 950 and on the way home I found myself using the rear brake Yes! Next day was a 170 mile day and I stood on the pegs using the rear brake 2x YES!
So...I will be shopping for some type of gear with super knee protection and I will advise others to do the same.

this TEIZ unit has been evolving over the last three years - history on the ADVrider site
no idea how good it is - but FWIW I bought a used (all but new) Aerostich for $400 and couldn't be happier. I've done the BMW, Dianese (ok this is a superior product), Belstaff, Rev'It route and the Aerostich is where it's at.

Leathers for track days.....

leathers with apair of base layer pants would be my suggestion.
Nylon goes pretty minging when it gets hot with sliding...
you dont see many racers wearing anything but leather , that surely counts for something
