Cost of 08 SDR tail section?

BEcause of limited availability.... the only SDR I can find for sale has had it's tailend converted to a normal SD's so it can seat a passenger.

If I was to return it to a normal SDR tail-end (Say buy a SDR Tail-end, and sell the conversion tail-end) How much money would that cost roughly?

I'm trying to gauge how much I should pay this guy. Please help!

The complete kit in the UK for an SRD single seat conversion is about £450. You get the official KTM kit with the plastic seat unit, rubber seat, undertray, back light, and all the bolts and fixings. People have done a parts list but it's way more expensive to buy bits separately.

One thing to remember is that in converting back your bike to a single seat, (or vice-versa), you have to reuse many of the parts so the dual seat unit is not a complete kit to sell on.

I bought my SDR tail last year new for about $900, that included shipping from the UK to the US. Then I sold my SD tail for about $550.

Does the company sell to the US? If so what's the shipping look like?

EDIT: Sorry you posted too fast for me lol.

Thank you guys for that information. I'm going to go make the guy an offer tomorrow.

Can you give me a link to the kit?

I forgot where I got it over there... If I remember correctly, everything was done through emailing back and forth?

My bad. Thanks again for the information. I will try to e-mail them and see what's up. If I buy this bike hopefully I can find that kit somewhere..... if not... well having a passenger seat isn't such a bad thing either

I'd rather have this at that price.

Some time ago I brought a 05-06 kit from Jim Aim:

www.jimaimracing.co.uk

The 07+ kit is slightly different I believe.

Mine cost GBP453 plus shipping.

OP, why are you so set on an SDR? Have you ridden one? The standard SD is a better street bike (the stock SDR seat is a plank, the SDR has twitchier steering, and the fueling is for shit) and you're never going to notice the difference in power on the street. If its the top end power you are after, get an Ape V4R or Duk SF.

I sure do like the look of the solo SDR seat. The price is a bit much. I keep hoping Adam of Carbon Kings would do a work around for us out of Carbon Fiber. Some kit that fits the SD model e-z enuf to switch back and forth for quick 2 up riding, that uses the same SD fender pan.
Anyone know if Adam has looked into this tail section . I just got off his web-site and he does not list one.

Quite frankly Idc if it's less comfortable and more twitchy. That is fine with me. Plus it looks a hell of a lot better than the standard.
