You want to do a Viking one at the end of the season if we get some TV footage and other video clips? Maybe change the tone and do a another type of vibe? Not sure what it will have to be yet, depends on how Viking does. Depends if he ends up victorious. Or otherwise. Music is everything isn't it when you do these clips? We do some films at work for presenting stuff sometimes. Depends what story you want to tell.

It's a lot harder than it seems. Not easy to get right.

I know the hours these things take, mate. No one appreciates it unless they've done it themselves really.

Tell you what though, if I worked out the hours we've spent doing designs and artwork for Vikings bike, I'd probably have kittens! Just off the top of my head the first design had three people working about two 12 hour days, plus my time. That's the equivalent of, say, 12 normal chargeable days. The second version had one guy for three days plus the artworker for two days so that's another 5. Based on our normal charge out rate it's cost the company £20,400.!!! That's not including the banner, logo concept work and helmet design that's still ongoing. It makes the actual money we sponsored Viking with seem insignificant.

But we're not thinking in those terms when we're doing this. I't's not money we've spent, just money we've not earned. It's really good fun and we're getting a kick out of it. I've absolutely no idea how to quantify it's value but it's a great adventure, never done anything like it before, and that's what's life is all about isn't it? There's a great vibe in the company about what we're doing and gradually everyone is getting on board with the fact that we have a racing bike flying round a track with our identity on it, (and a really nice bloke on it too). Can't wait till the next race and get photos of the new design. Planning to take a big van load of the company up to his final round at Cadwell and cheer him on. It will be a great day out and be something special I'm sure.
