Right chaps, looking for some input here (lookout aye)

Unsure if you all know but I've replaced all the panels on my bike (1290 SD) with carbon.

I was going to sell the original panels or maybe keep them incase one day i sell the bike

OK, Here comes the schtick.

Why advertise for free ?

Why look like a wannabee boy racer ?

I am all for a custom paint job, but something different unique and original.
Just not into the replica anything.

Carryon.

It may be worth considering further down the road, in x years' time if you wanted to sell or trade in the 1290, it would be worth far more with good conditioned standard panels on it. No matter how well-executed a custom paint job is, one man's Picasso is another man's poison and if you've shelled out on a set of carbon panels (which I presume weren't cheap), would you want to take them off just to replace them with the originals that are now in a different colour scheme?
It's your choice buddy, but if you're dead set on a custom paint job option it'd be cheaper in the long run to find another set of standard panels to paint.
I quite like the Red Bull paint jobs that the Moto3 bikes run, but if I were looking to buy a 2nd hand bike I'd want it standard to start with....
(or... you could paint the carbon panels... no? OK, thought not)

When your in a nursing home unable to feed yourself, unable to do do anything except dream, you don't want to think, why did I not give my superduke a killer paint job.Go for it and you don't need to ask this forum for there opinion because most times it's pretty negative. But if you post up pics and ask what do you think, you better have a thick skin.

I would def keep the stock panels, otherwise when you sell it it'll always be in the back of the buyers head that it could have been crashed. Just my 5ยข
Not sure how any of these livery's will transfer to a naked bike but here goes some ideas:

Since you already have carbon body panels you get match this easily.

if you want block colours and aren't too bothered about intricate designs I would have a look into getting the panels wrapped, the original paint wouldn't be affected when/if it comes to sell and it would also protect panels against stone chips.

Here's the gaudiest Superduke ever created!

It's Gordon's Thundersport bike from a few years ago in Echo livery. The paddock took the piss but the TV cameras loved it!

One sponsor bike, that is interesting.
One won one, one one won one too.
I like a bike easy to spot on the track and on the street it would also make good sense. Paint jobs are cool but a bike loaded with stickers, not so much. The trouble with KTM's is that you are semi forced into following the sponsor-trademark direction. The other position would be to just pick color that suits you and spray all painted items the same. You could incorporate this color into the wheels without verbal statements but chances are you would be heading into gaudy territory so a single color may make more since. I would stay away from turning it into an energy drink commercial. Think about camo

This is the most "custom" paint SD I've seen. Not my kind of deal, I think you have to wear leather chaps and listen to Black Sabbath while riding it.

P.S your Aprilia was badass looking IMO

not really custom but just mocked this up in paint,

Think this will be the route I take when i get my 1290, powder coated frame and wheels, wrapped tank; CF radiator fairings, mudguards, headlight shroud and seat cover + of course i'll need some rim tape too

Look back at the pictures of Gordon's race bike. Shocking colours, different each side, made your head ache but.... no rim tape.

Just saying.
