Daytime Light 1290

In the menu on the 1290 it gives you the option to turn on/off daytime running of the light.
Now in Oz it is mandatory to have your headlight on and most bikes dont even have the headlight on off switch (my 06 990 strangely does though).
From what I can see it makes no difference if I change the menu to on/off both the LED's and headlight remain on.
Is this the same for 1290's in other countries?

I've got my LED set to "ON".

There's a sensor that allows the headlight to switch on and off given the lighting conditions. Mine works well so far.

Maybe I need to pull it out of the shed to test it, makes no difference at the moment.
Does not really matter, quite like the LED's.
