Dirty little minx.

Well gave her a bath.
She was a dirty little minx.

Seems like the chin spoiler was caked with oil and crap.
No signs of a leak.

Is there a breather or overflow that vents down here ?

One of the previous owners did the secondary butterflies and 2nd 3rd switch mods.

Seems louder than i would expect for a stock exhaust.
Need to pull the tail or exhaust and see if it has been cut open and gutted, no signs that i can externally.

Cables showed up need to download tune and see what I have.

One more quick question, I searched and found that the acc1 is missing on 06 in the headlight mask, for the jumper harness. But the turn signals have the micro connectors, no sign of micro connectors in the mask either. What am i missing ?

So far it is a blast buzzing around town, took me 7 min to go to an appointment and park on the sidewalk. Took 45 min by car and another 10 to find parking.

Not the lightest clutch for city driving, and surgy at low rpms, but already planning my trip to Nurburgring. Didn't really buy it for city use.
Next Isle of Man. Have to hit these epic rides while in EU region.

I searched "oil Leaks" and "LED Turnsignals". Befor asking the questions.

The several threads I read did not talk about the micro connectors on the KTM LED turns.
They did mention as I stated the missing ACC1 in the mask and that it is located under the seat on the '06.
I don't want to cut and splice the wires.

The oil leak threads did mention over filled tanks and loose pressure switches.

But I see no signs of a leak and tank is not over full.

Thanks Nitro

It was OIL not dialectric grease.
I cleaned everything off and will monitor.
By the accumulation, I would say it is spitting a little, when she gets hot.
Just need to figure out from where.

There are several places a 990 loves an oil leak from. Base gaskets both front and back. Oil pressure switch between the cylinders. Gear sensor below output shaft. Output shaft seal has gone on me before. Think the one on the SDR might be weeping. Best way is to coat the areas in talcum powder and go out and ride the arse off it. Come back and you should be able to see where new oil has leaked into powder.

Comrade nitro450exp: I thought the 06 models had the white nylon two pin indicator connectors (part no. 000700000AK) not the micro-connectors.

Comrade Sarasota_Steve might look it up for you.

Comrade

The '06 SD, has the large white connector both FR and RR are 3 pin, Y shaped Harness with blinker on each end and earth splice in the harness.
The LED blinker Kit provided with the bike, Has the splice harness, 4 Blinkers and HD Flasher. The OO said when he bought it at The KTM Dealer it was plug and play.
The LED blinkers have micro connectors on them.

I opened the mask and tail section looking for micro connectors, and of course there were none.
So it looks like snip snip and solder and heat shrink.
And run a new ACC1 (Brown Gnd) to the splice harness.

Is it not too much to hope for simple Plug and play.

Anyone in Paris France want to lend me a soldering iron, mine is at Home (and 110V).

I JUST HATE CUTTING FACTORY WIRING. (My OCD won't allow it)

I think I will make my own Y sub harness.

I need the Male Micro connectors and pins From KTM. ( 4 Connectors and 8 pins )
I will need the 3 Pin large white connectors (Cannot remember male or female will check again) ( 2 connectors and 6 pins )
Then it will be plug and play.

Can anyone point me in the direction to find the connector and pin Part numbers ?

Good parts shop it Paris Where I can buy the correct crimp tool for the connectors ?

Thanks Guys
