Do not wheelie in front of a cop!

So I am on vacation for a month and since I am a pretty good friend I borrowed my duke to a close friend, he just received two tickets of 1.5k for wheeleing and got caught by an officer.

I can't stop laughing but feel so bad for him also.

Damn! You are lucky though. In my country your bike would likely be impounded. Maybe even sold.

Got my first speeding ticket on my SDR, 3500 miles on the odometer. Doing 83 in a 70 (mph). Luckily for me it was a tribal cop, and so no points or hit on my insurance (since it's sovereign land). $90 fine and I feel lucky

..over here you get put in leg-irons and thrown in The Tower for 2 years, it's a bloody medieval nightmare!

This could get a bit Python-esque..

Those tickets are so epic! I really hope cops have forgot my wheelies by then!

I see that a large portion of this community is from Europe. That's awesome but you guys have some gestapo cops over there. I'm a cop. I ride/drive like a maniac. (without risking others) But I'm also not a hypocrite. Just the other day some chick on an R6 pulled up to a light where I was writing reports. Right as the light was going to turn green she looked at me, flipped down her visor, pulled through the intersection and as soon as she snicked 2nd she clutched up a 2,3,4 wheelie as far down the road as I could see. I went back to writing my reports. (In case you're wondering yes she's hot, yes I know where she lives, and yes if my wife ever leaves me....she'll be my next conquest).......

There's no way in hell I was going to pull out and chase......and except for a few knuckleheads I don't know anyone I work with that would either

Those ticket amounts are staggering. I mean do the cops over there think what that could do to someone.....what are they gonna do not eat/feed their kids for 2 months?

I wonder if the original post of wheelie ticket was in France? I live in Western Canada and wheelies and other stunts will get you a ticket and in extreme cases they might take the bike for a time. In fact if your over 30Km over the posted limit they can take your bike or car. Tickets would likely be in the $100-$500 range. I would be surprised if Quebec in eastern Canada (French) was much different, but who knows?

As has been said, right place, right time. I've been doing the naughty things for 3 1/2 decades without getting any big tickets. But if you need spectators, then you'll pay. If you need that attention you might explore the reasons why............
