went on a ebr demo ride rode the ebr sx
wow what a dissapointment
same price as a 1290r
hard on the wrist
lack of power
hard clutch pull
plywood seat
nice dash loaded with bs
engine sounds like its ready to blow up
the vibration in the bars was terrible
i did get to talk to the ebr field engineer
and told him all of this
it helped that i rode the 1290r to
the event
i even offered the ebr guys to ride
my KTM no takers

Yeah I test rode the ebr sx and really wanted to like it but it didn't take long before I knew it wasn't for me.
I was wondering if it was just me about the wrists, I pulled a little wheelie and it hurt when I came down, not that hard either. Bike felt stiff and jerky.
Clutch was hard but could live with it.
Had some heat when stopped coming from the motor.
The riding position and comfort on the 1290 is a lot better.
I'd like to see ebr refine their bikes in the coming years and give the Jap and Euro bikes some competition.
I think the guys that will buy this bike are old Buell fans or someone who wants to buy American.

SDNerd yawns apathetically ... Reflecting on his own demo of the latest EBR PoS ...

There is no rational reason to buy any EBR product. Poorest value in motorcycling this side of an H-D.

Wishing for refinement, won't make it so. Buying the products won't either. Erik and Co. have had since 2007 with the Rotax mill (I'm still convinced it was Aprilia's discard), and it's still a dog. I'm also convinced no amount of money will achieve this. To move the company along would require the ouster of Erik Buell in any leadership role other than as a technical adviser, AND Hero putting in a real-deal professional CEO with a solid track record of growing motorcycle and/or automotive manufacturing entities, that is dedicated to addressing customer desires, and willing to risk the capital needed to be competitive.

I owned a 96 buell s1 lightning had the
race exhaust and upgraded the motor to
the 101 hp, heads,pistons
i rode that bike for years however once the buell
went to watercooling and that rotex motor
i lost all interest in buell
and there is No Way I would ever buy
a EBR
the ebr sx is price same as the 1290r
i can see the EBRs collecting lots of dust

Funny you say that it's the same price as ktm 1290,
In Sweden it's $3000 less than the duke despite it's an America product.
Same as the starting price for s1000r

About $4K more than the 1290SD here (Oz).
I wish Buell all the best, but just after HD dropped them the 1125R/CR was going for $9K (plus onroads). The 1190SX/RX is going for $28K ride away.
I can't see the value...

ktm 1290R 149 500sek

I would never pay more for that bike compared to the 1290, not even tempted at a lower price if it feels this bad as Joe biker described.
I really hoped they would put on some ordinary brakes at the front, other than that it looks good in my eyes (from the side)
