I'm in the process of turning my 990 into a project bike.
Although road legal it will be for my amusement only and does not in any way need to be practical. I have a ZZR 1400 for trips etc.
Although quite diferent in detail, stylistically I want the end result to turn out something like this 1290
I have had it in mind to remove the mask and headlight and replace with a flatter substitute and the nose on this bike is close to what I have been looking for. The obvious route is to buy a large MC number board and have that painted but I wondered if anybody here knew of a better idea. The one pictured here has some depth and looks better than curved plastic sheet would no matter how well painted.
Any ideas / sugestons welcome

Watch the video of this bike here, and you will see they have added a light into the front shield.

Don't think I want a light but I think the snub nosed look really suits the SD. My ideal solution would be interchangeable. I could swap the front masks between the std equipment painted to suit and the snub nose look.
