I have a 2007 KTM Adventure and want your guys advice on having the heads ported, race cut valve job, and the throttle bodies blue printed. I want more on road performance and still want to be able to run down dirt and gravel roads. I do not get off on the really rough stuff but love the load carrying and wind protection of the Adv. My bike is a 2007 with the following:
2007 Super Duke cams, Remus Roxx 2 into 1 exhaust, Motohooligan intake,SAS removed, secondary throttle system removed, RC8 trumpets, custom tune on dyno was made by Powertripp Performance and had 95 hp on his dyno. Later installed the RC 8 trumpets, switched out the exhaust from a old 2 into 1 system. Could not get back to the dyno so installed a Bazzaz auto tune and have it self mapped to 13.2 to 1 air fuel ratio.
If you have had head work on your bike how much did it improve performance and how did it help on street performance? If you had the work done in the USA, who did your work?
I plan on pulling and reinstalling the heads my self so will ship the parts to the engine shop.

I can not comment on before and after but I've had my SDR heads done...
Danny Boyd did mine at Tri-Valley Moto.
Flowing heads may also move your power out of your usable rev range, Harleys have this problem. You can flow them really well but they will more often than not lose power or get no gains as they don't rev enough to use the extra flow.
SDNerd will have a good explanation for you, Flowing is good but velocity is also needed.
Apparently just a good valve job will gwt you noticable results.
