Hi dave88,

When you say "1290 SM" I assume you mean 1290 Superduke.

I have owned a number of V Twins over the years and they all need to breath properley so the standard exhaust is the first thing to modify.

I have recently fitted the Bodis Decat and the Akrapovic Slip On End Can and I can tell you it sounds awesome, just like a V Twin should.

I have ridden over 100 miles with the standard map with no adverse running problems (I haven't redlined it though)

I only fitted these to create the right sound without being "obnoxiously loud".

I really don't feel the bike needs any more power it just needs to sound right but it does feel stronger with these fitted.

I have a K&N filter ready to go in and I will get the Akrapovic map installed when I can get it down to my supplying dealer.

I am still deliberating over fitting the Rottweiler Air Box Mod, SAS Removal and a Power Commander.

So if I get an akra slip on and bodis decat do I also need a PCV power commander? Or can the dealer load the akra map directly to the bike? Is the Power Commander worth it? Thanks for your help, I appreciate it.

Reading through numerous posts on here it seems that quite a few owners are having the Akrapovic map installed and fitting the PCV to fine tune it on a dyno.
The dealer loaded Akrapovic map is allegedly fine on its own if a little on the rich side so I will have to see.
