Couple of days ago I did a trackday with the SD (07) and had some troubles with quick up and downshifts on the straights, mostly upshifts that gave me troubles. The bike didn't get into the next gear and felt back in gear I was in before shifting. Even a couple of false neutrals, mostly during quick downshifts.
In the last session I rode more relaxed (but quicker) and didn't had any issues with the box.
On the road though, I notice some shifting troubles now and then with upshifting, mostly from 2nd to 3rd and I get a false neutral. Since this last thing hurts my balls with wheelies, I wondered what you guys did to shift more convincing.
I'd like to know if reversing the shift pattern solved this problem for some of you.

Have you checked the gear lever linkages? Might has a bolt coming loose.

My 06 SD's gear box was gash, you had to be really positive with the lever, ended up going for reverse shift pattern. Was fine on road but just crap on track.
BASH69 had the same issues and said he only had it with 40T rear sprocket.
Never had a false neutral though.

Crap = poo/rubbish/not very good.
I only went reverse shift because you had to really force it up the box when on the gas, and stamping down gives more force than lifting the foot up so easier changes, worked better though, that was the only reason.

I've had a fair few false neutrals when changing down, but never going up.
I put it down to me not stamping the lever fully, but might whip off the cover in the link and have a looksy.

I've had more than my fair share of false neutrals. Anything other than firm positive shifts down the box could result in one. Not good tanking into a corner in neutral.
I use reverse pattern and love it. Makes more sense and have less shift problems than before.
